KidsPlay GodsWay week #9 was postponed. Looking forward to doing something special for week #10, since that will be the last time we meet this summer, due to school starting the following week.

KPGW WEEK #8

WEEK #8 KPGW Well, we started by visiting the ducks at the 5th Street pond. Then we went over to the building and spent some time making tee shirts and playing on the computer. Talked about maybe going to CamelBeach before the summer is over. Talked about KidsPlay GodsWay being about God first then play after. That's about it for week 8.

KPGW WEEK #7

What a great day to go on a field trip. I picked up two campers and away we went to Callie's Candy and Pretzel Factory. We went to the Pretzel Factory first and got to see Pretzels being made. Then we went to the Chocolate Factory and saw a short show on the history of Chocolate being made at Callies, including chocolate covered potato chips and chocolate covered twinkies!

Then we went to visit a friend of mine, Alice. She took the campers on a Golf Cart tour of her wooded animal zoo. The campers then played on the swings, in the tree house, and on the Zip Line.

Much fun had by all. What a blessing. Thank you God for a good day at KidsPlay GodsWay.

KPGW WEEK #6

Week #6 turned out to be done on the road at the home of the 2 campers. I gave them each their own grade specific spelling tests. And then we went over some Bible scriptures. When there was just a bit too much silliness going on I showed them how Ecclesiastes 3 talks about there being a time for everything, including laughter. And explained to them how it is important to know the difference between learning time and laughter time :)

Then we reviewed their points for the day. And also discussed their desire to go visit Callies Candy Kitchen and Pretzel Factory next week.

KPGW WEEK #5

Ok, so it was like 100 degrees out today. I picked up 2 campers. We prayed for our day, and for those who might be a little hot today, that God would help them. During the car ride to the pool, we reviewed Naming All of The Ten Commandments. Then we swam for 6 hours till they closed the pool. Had dinner and then took the 2 kids back to the building for a little bit of Bible scripture review, and some game time on the computer. Then took them home. Thank God for allowing us to beat the heat today. And for the two campers this week.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts KidsPlay GodsWay week # 4 was postponed and rescheduled for week #5. Looking forward to a very blessed week 5 session, probably this Thursday, July 21.

KidsPlay GodsWay week 3

KidsPlay GodsWay Summer Day Camp 2011 week #3 had a new camper, making a total of 3 for the day. It was challenging in that the 3 campers were 6, 9 and 11 yrs. old, but all 3 did well and the group had a good day. We went over Journals, then prayed and ate lunch.

After spending a little time going over "The Ten Commandments", the group can now recite them from 1 to 10, and from 10 back down to one. We also went to the park to play. Then came back and went over points for the day, and spent some free time playing games on approved websites. Then I took them all home. Thank God for our day.

KidsPlay GodsWay week 2

KidsPlay GodsWay Summer Day Camp had 2 kids today. Pickups went smooth. We prayed for our day. Then we came to the building. We went over journals and expectations for the day. Handed in homework from last time and got new homework. Math equations and Math Word problems. Then we finalized the points system being used for the kids to earn points to be able to pick prizes at the end of the day. Then we made turkey subs and ate while watching a movie on DVD.

After lunch we read Genesis 1:1-5. Then the kids memorized John 11:35, John 14:6 and John 3:16.
Then we went to the Park and played. Rule #1...No walking in front of a moving swing! Came back here did journals and did points for the day. Then took the 2 campers home.
